Frequently Asked

Find your answer

The most common questions — answered clearly and quickly.

How do I submit a prescription for refill?
Open the Apilox app, tap "New Refill", and either scan your prescription with the camera or upload a photo from your gallery. A licensed pharmacist will review it within 2 hours. You'll receive a notification once it's approved and ready for dispensing.
What types of prescriptions does Apilox accept?
We accept valid prescriptions for chronic condition medicines (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, asthma) issued by a registered practitioner. Prescriptions must be legible, dated within the last 6 months, and include the prescriber's stamp or registration number. We currently do not dispense controlled substances (Schedule A & B) through the app.
How do I set up automatic refill reminders?
Go to My Medications → select a medication → tap "Set Reminder". You can choose how many days before running out you'd like to be notified. You can also enable auto-refill, which will automatically place a new refill order 7 days before your supply is estimated to run out.
Can I cancel or modify a refill order?
You can cancel or modify an order within 30 minutes of placing it, as long as it has not yet been dispensed. Go to Orders → select the order → tap "Cancel Order". After the 30-minute window, please contact our support team at hello@apilox.co.tz.
My prescription was rejected — what should I do?
Our pharmacist will send you a notification explaining the reason for rejection. Common reasons include: illegible prescription, expired prescription, or missing prescriber details. You can re-upload a corrected prescription at no extra charge. If you believe the rejection was in error, contact our pharmacist team directly through the in-app chat.
Which areas does Apilox deliver to?
We currently deliver across Dar es Salaam (Ilala, Kinondoni, Ubungo, Kigamboni, Temeke). We are actively expanding to Arusha, Mwanza, and Dodoma — sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know when we launch in your region.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery takes 2–4 hours within Dar es Salaam city zones. Express delivery (available in selected areas) is within 90 minutes. Delivery times may be longer during public holidays or peak periods. You'll receive live tracking once your order is dispatched.
How do I track my delivery?
Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive an SMS and push notification with a live tracking link. You can also track your order inside the app under Orders → Active Orders. The map shows your delivery agent's real-time location and estimated arrival time.
What if I'm not home when the delivery arrives?
Our delivery agent will attempt to contact you. If unreachable, they will hold your order and attempt re-delivery within 3 hours. Prescription medicines cannot be left unattended and require recipient confirmation. If re-delivery fails, your order will be returned and you'll be issued a full refund or given the option to reschedule.
What is the Apilox Ultimate Card?
The Ultimate Card is a health-credit solution designed specifically for patients with chronic conditions. It allows you to receive medicines immediately and pay at the end of the month — removing the barrier of upfront costs for essential medication. It is not a traditional credit card; it is exclusively for pharmaceutical purchases within the Apilox network.
Who is eligible for the Ultimate Card?
You must be 18 or older, a verified Apilox user, and a patient with a documented chronic condition (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, asthma). You'll need to complete identity verification and provide documentation of your condition. Credit limits are determined based on your refill history and programme eligibility.
How do I apply for the Ultimate Card?
Go to the Ultimate Card section in the app → tap "Apply Now" → complete the identity verification steps → submit your chronic condition documentation. Our team reviews applications within 24 hours. You'll be notified of your credit limit by push notification and email.
When and how do I repay the Ultimate Card?
Repayment is due on the 5th of every month for the previous month's balance. You can pay via M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, or bank transfer. Payment reminders are sent 5 days and 1 day before the due date. Late payments may affect your credit limit for the following month.
Can I use the Ultimate Card at any pharmacy?
The Ultimate Card can be used at any pharmacy within the Apilox partner network. You can view the full list of partner pharmacies in the app under Pharmacies → Partner Map. Using it outside the Apilox network is not currently supported.
How do I create an Apilox account?
Download the Apilox app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store → tap "Create Account" → enter your phone number → verify via OTP → complete your profile with your name and date of birth. Account creation is free and takes under 2 minutes.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password" → enter your registered phone number → you'll receive an OTP → enter it to verify → create a new password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and contain at least one number and one uppercase letter.
How do I update my delivery address?
Go to Profile → Saved Addresses → tap the pencil icon on an existing address or "Add New Address". You can save multiple addresses (e.g. Home, Office) and select the preferred one at checkout. Addresses can also be updated during the checkout process.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Account → "Delete Account". You'll be asked to confirm. Once deleted, your personal data will be erased within 30 days in accordance with Tanzania's data protection laws. Note: any outstanding Ultimate Card balance must be settled before deletion can proceed.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, Halopesa, and major debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard). Cash on delivery is available in selected Dar es Salaam zones. Payment through the Ultimate Card is also available for eligible users. We do not currently accept cryptocurrency.
How do I get a receipt or invoice?
Receipts are sent automatically to your registered email address and stored in-app under Orders → select an order → "Receipt". For a formal invoice (for insurance or employer reimbursement), tap "Request Invoice" on any completed order and it will be generated within 24 hours.
What is the refund policy?
If you received the wrong medicine, a damaged product, or an incomplete order, you are entitled to a full refund or replacement. Report the issue within 48 hours of delivery via the app or by emailing hello@apilox.co.tz. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method. Opened medicines cannot be returned for safety reasons.
I was charged twice — what should I do?
This can occasionally happen due to a network timeout during mobile money processing. Please take a screenshot of both transaction confirmations and contact us at hello@apilox.co.tz or call +255 740 001 009. We will investigate and refund the duplicate charge within 24 hours.
